It had been quite some time since a science fiction action movie gave me as much pleasure as “Osiris” did. The film’s clear inspiration comes from movies like “Alien(s)” and “Predator”—the original versions, not the recent ones that feel altered—but it incorporates additional ideas that are truly inventive and contribute to its complexity. For example, the aliens behave in ways reminiscent of human special forces, equipped with gear that is recognizable yet modified to showcase their status as a technologically advanced, albeit ruthless, species. The narrative itself is surprisingly intricate, especially considering that it’s primarily propelled by action sequences. Speaking of which, those action scenes are intense, believable, and flow well throughout the entire movie; there aren't many slow parts. I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality of the performances from a cast I didn’t know very well—with the exception of Linda Hamilton, who is famous for her role in “Terminator.” Ultimately, this science fiction film, which clearly wasn't made with major studio backing, surpasses many other movies that had considerably larger budgets. If you appreciated "Alien(s)" and the original "Predator" films, I believe you will find “Osiris” to be enjoyable.
