It’s disappointing that Originless didn’t quite manage to find its footing, because there was potential there. The movie seems unsure of itself, shifting between a vampire action film and something more akin to an art film. It features shadowy scenes involving vampires alongside music that's classical in style but feels overly dramatic. Ultimately, this makes for a frustrating experience; the uneven approach left me feeling irritated. I’m continually surprised by how easily promising concepts can be mishandled. A straightforward approach would have served it well, but instead, the film comes across as shallow and barely worth watching.
