It’s disappointing that Originless didn’t quite manage to find its footing, because there was potential there. The movie seems unsure of itself, shifting between an action-oriented vampire story and something more akin to an art film. It features shadowy scenes involving vampires, set to a soundtrack of slow, classical music. This leads to a viewing experience that isn't particularly enjoyable, and it left me feeling frustrated by its lack of focus. I’m consistently surprised at how easily promising concepts can be mishandled. A simpler approach would have served this project better; as it stands, the film feels shallow and barely worth watching.
