Guy Ritchie’s newest Action-Caper film, “Operation Fortune: Ruse de guerre,” delivers a successful blend of action and humor. When a classified device called "The Handle" is stolen from a laboratory by a skilled combat unit, the U.K. government enlists Nathan (played by Cary Elwes) to assemble a team for its recovery. Very little is known about the device’s purpose or capabilities, but its theft and reported ten billion dollar price tag clearly establish it as an item of significant value. Nathan quickly brings Orson (Jason Statham) aboard, interrupting his vacation. Despite his eccentricities and specific requirements to participate, he joins the group. The team is completed by young agent JJ (Bugzy Malone), and American computer specialist Sarah (Aubrey Plaza). Orson finds Sarah’s presence irritating because she was hired away from a competing company, and her sharp responses add to his stress. It's revealed that notorious arms dealer Greg (Hugh Grant) seems to be facilitating the transaction, leading the team on a journey across various locations while facing numerous dangers alongside a rival group. A sense of urgency drives the plot as the team incorporates actor Danny Francesco (Josh Hartnett), who is favored by Greg, hoping he can provide access and an introduction for Sarah, who will pose as his new romantic interest. The result is a wild and funny escapade filled with memorable characters and situations, along with plenty of action to maintain momentum and enough humor to keep the audience entertained. The cast performs exceptionally well together, and it would be enjoyable to see them collaborate again in future installments. Their shared flaws, personalities, and quirks make them feel genuine and relatable—a refreshing contrast to the often invincible characters common in similar films. The film earns a rating of 4 stars out of 5.
