I went in expecting a shark film, or perhaps something connected to the initial Open Water movie, but this turned out to be different—it grabbed my attention right away when a bunch of friends spontaneously choose to dive in open water without properly securing their boat’s ladder. What follows is pretty wild, with primal reactions and accusations flying around. It's enjoyable if you like survival-based thrillers; it has some familiar elements, but I got about ninety minutes of excitement out of Adrift. (Grade B). TN.
