I put off seeing this film because I was already familiar with the Granite Mountain Hotshots' narrative, but Joseph Kosinski’s involvement ultimately persuaded me to watch it. As expected, he delivered another impactful and emotionally resonant work. The characters felt fully realized and complex, and witnessing their individual growth heightened the tension as you become invested in each person and situation. The film’s intensity makes it difficult to claim I had a pleasurable experience while watching it. Nevertheless, Only The Brave is certainly an exceptional movie, successfully conveying its powerful story through talented actors, skillful writing and storytelling, and impressive direction.
