Jumper: A familiar journey. While there are echoes of other stories, 'Jumper' feels like a unique concept. It’s not about traveling through time, but rather a form of space travel—a supernatural ability to traverse distances within the Earth's atmosphere. The film unfolds as a deliberate fantasy-drama centered on two adolescent siblings residing in seclusion, possessing an inherited power that allows them to instantly move between locations they can see. The narrative follows what happens when their curiosity leads them to experiment with this ability, which is forbidden by their stern father. The script proves to be the movie’s greatest shortcoming; it draws inspiration from elsewhere but doesn't fully realize its potential, ultimately landing in a forgettable category. No single performance stands out significantly, though Kiernan Shipka receives considerable screen time and delivers a satisfactory portrayal. There isn’t much to elaborate on regarding the film itself—the conversations are infrequent and brief. It’s essentially a straightforward drama that is largely unengaging due to its underdeveloped scenes. Is it something you should make an effort to see? Probably not, but at least it wasn't my least favorite movie ever. 6/10
