This movie is like a mashup of James Bond and those classic Italian Westerns. Throughout its runtime, it's a completely silly film, though still pretty enjoyable. The plot has some really strange moments and noticeable gaps in logic. However, the pacing keeps things moving along nicely, with plenty of exaggerated gunplay and fistfights to appreciate. It’s disappointing that Thomas Jane isn’t cast in more substantial, better-written parts; he's a capable performer. He even brings a degree of believability to the wildly unbelievable Ranger character. Ultimately, it's an absurd but still worthwhile action movie.
