Rating: B- Will Gluck’s futuristic romantic comedy functions more effectively as a way to highlight the actors than it does in terms of its own story, and I'm perfectly okay with that. Monica Barbaro gives what is undoubtedly her strongest performance yet; and despite some negative reactions, I found that she and Callum Turner have good chemistry together—it’s actually one of the film’s better qualities, not a failing. The music selections are well-chosen and help establish the mood, but an overly long beginning and several unnecessary side stories prevent it from being anything more than an enjoyable experience.
