The director, known primarily for horror movies, previously made 'Hello Stranger,' a romance-drama I enjoyed that also starred the lead actor in this film. This new movie shares similarities with that earlier work—it’s another travel-based romance-drama, though it incorporates only a small amount of fantasy or science fiction elements. The storytelling style makes categorizing it otherwise feel unnecessary; it even evokes the feeling of 90s Western romantic films, which is an older theme, but surprisingly effective. The premise felt comparable to 'A Few Portion Missing in the Centre,' but this one is purely a romance-drama. Initially, I assumed it would be fairly ordinary—the scenes seemed predictable—and for much of the film's duration, that proved to be true, until a plot twist appeared around the midway point. The twist itself wasn’t particularly original; such turns have been used in cinema for ages. What followed was decent enough, but what truly distinguished the movie was its ending, which I believe ultimately saved it. Had the climax fallen short, the film would have lost much of its appeal. If I were younger, perhaps a teenager or in my early twenties, this might have become one of my favorite films. Now, with a more experienced perspective, familiar tropes don’t quite resonate as strongly; so I'm not really the intended audience, but those who are will likely appreciate it greatly—especially young women. Nevertheless, it remains watchable for almost anyone, regardless of how much they connect with it. The story centers on Denchai, a 30-year-old tech support employee at an IT firm. He’s a perfectionist who longs to be acknowledged by those around him, but feels invisible. He develops feelings for a new coworker and secretly observes her because she's already in a relationship with someone else in the office. Then, when the company organizes an overseas trip for its employees, he unexpectedly gets the chance to become her boyfriend for a single day. The film then details how they manage this arrangement and reveals what happens the following day. The beginning felt longer than I expected; however, that extended setup was needed to establish the later plot developments. Once the foreign travel begins, the movie shifts into a different kind of experience. Like most standard romantic dramas, it delivers on its promises in the areas you'd anticipate. Viewers who’ve seen countless romance films might find elements cliché, but it’s ultimately worthwhile. As the story progresses toward its conclusion, you may think you know what's coming, though the film reaches a high point with a satisfying resolution rather than an ideal one. The two lead actors received Thai Academy Awards for their performances, which I believe they deserved, at least by Thai standards. It’s another solid film from this director; I hope he explores more romance films alongside his preferred horror genre. The Japanese locations were used effectively to enhance the narrative. The dialogue was acceptable, but the emotional impact could have been stronger, particularly given the nature of the ending. Regardless, I enjoyed it primarily because of that final section. It’s one of the best Thai romance films in recent years; if you're seeking a pure and heartfelt romantic story, this is an excellent choice. 7/10
