This movie offers an absorbing, deliberately unhurried journey that impressively makes the most of its limited resources. It explores the immense scale of space and how confronting our own smallness can push people toward instability, which is what fuels the disturbing religious group featured in the story. My few criticisms come from wishing it had a larger budget; this kept me from giving it a better score. I would have liked to see more detailed beings and a wider range of personalities, but it's important to remember that the film’s goals didn’t allow for those things. The acting is good, the storytelling remains focused, and the visuals are appealing, all contributing to its charm. The way it examines ideas is really something to consider.
