It brings to mind Megalopolis 2, a sprawling project centered around an older man’s relationships with younger women. The length felt just right for me; I am an older person myself. However, the film proved dull and lacked any real spark. The narrative itself held appeal, as did the performers involved. The conclusion concerning the young character was pleasing, though Lucy's final scene was difficult to watch. Trimming roughly 45 minutes would have improved it considerably; the romantic subplot should have been removed and replaced with a dynamic friendship instead. Shouldn’t we be moving past standard movie lengths?
