I’ve watched the initial four episodes of the #ObiWanKenobiSeries on #DisneyPlus, and I want to suggest something fairly strong – the television shows are now better than the Star Wars films. It seems like the movies often try to give audiences too much at once, which can make it hard for people who aren’t deeply familiar with everything to follow what's going on with the characters, the specific words they use, and the story as a whole. The television series, though, do a good job of explaining complicated things in smaller pieces, pulling viewers in with how the characters change and interesting stories that help you understand more about Star Wars. Shows like The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett have been really well done, letting audiences get to know both the important people and those who play smaller roles. I’ve learned a lot about Luke and Leia from these shows, which has helped me better understand where they came from and why they do what they do. Generally speaking, the Star Wars television series are adding more detail to the existing stories and making the universe bigger than the movies sometimes manage. This is an exciting period for people who like Star Wars!
