This film proved exceptionally dull. It’s possible to discern quite a bit about its values simply by observing how it portrays female characters; they appear solely as romantic figures. The one exception is the wife of the Supreme Court Justice early on, though even her role functions primarily to showcase her husband's perceived cleverness through his interactions with her. Beyond that, the movie feels contrived and tedious, and also appears low-budget. Crowe’s attempt at speaking German was particularly unsuccessful. A more worthwhile experience would be a second viewing of The Schindler's List if you’re seeking an enjoyable World War II film; this one just felt like an exercise in boredom. It truly was boring. Again, b o r i n g.
