I didn’t find myself completely captivated by *Nosferatu*, but there are aspects of it that allow me to consider it a worthwhile film. The visuals are wonderful, and the gothic horror touches really stand out. Lily-Rose Depp delivers an impressive performance, as does Emma Corrin, although in a more understated way, and seeing Willem Dafoe is always a pleasure. I’m still feeling rather puzzled by Nicholas Hoult's work here. I appreciated him in *Juror #2*, which also came out this year, but his presence in this film has brought back that sense of detachment I sometimes feel when watching him. It’s hard to put my finger on why, as he seems likeable enough, but his performances just don't seem to connect with me—which probably sounds more critical than I mean it to be. Bill Skarsgård as Count Orlok is another element that left me feeling uncertain. He certainly looks the part; there’s nothing wrong with his appearance. However, I thought the dialogue delivered in his scenes was almost clumsy. Those moments directly involving the Count were the least engaging for me. The film also feels a little too long, although I recognize that might just be my own preference – if you're into this kind of thing, it’ll likely feel like the perfect length. For my taste, though, they seemed to go about things in a roundabout way. That being said, I really enjoyed that final scene with Depp; it was very well done! Those last few paragraphs might suggest I don’t like this movie, but that's not true. It simply has some noticeable points that I wanted to mention. As I write this, without having checked how the film has been received, I’d be surprised if it didn’t receive high ratings. Regardless, it is worth seeing. This is my third Robert Eggers movie. I loved *The Northman* (9/10), but I genuinely disliked *The Lighthouse* (4/10). It's safe to say this one lands right in the middle of how I feel about his work. The difference between those two films is quite striking, and I’m curious to see how *The Witch* will affect me when I eventually watch it.
