It appears that the time has come for the character to end, and as many expected, a female Bond of color will take his place—apparently due to concerns about inclusivity. It feels appropriate that Craig’s tenure concluded this way; he always seemed reluctant to embody James Bond. There was no sense of lightness or enjoyment in his portrayal... just unhappiness, really, from beginning to end. I can't understand the appeal of seeing a gloomy 007, and frankly, I don’t get the attraction of the forthcoming politically correct version either. Both seem out of sync with what the series represents.
