I’m not someone who watches many romantic comedies, and I’ve likely only seen a handful over the years. I mention this because a lot of what people say about No Strings Attached seems to be that it isn’t particularly inventive, with the supposed difference being the inclusion of some profanity. However, I personally found myself enjoying the film for what it is. It's probably due to my limited exposure to romantic comedies, but also because there really isn't anything inherently bad about it. It does focus more on the romance than the comedy elements, and I actually liked that approach. The plot might be quite shallow, but I felt that Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher had good chemistry together, which helped compensate for that. I was aware, like most viewers, of how the movie would conclude from early on, yet I remained engaged in seeing how they’d arrive at that resolution, and I wasn't disappointed when it finished. Ultimately, No Strings Attached is a decent romantic comedy; it won’t be groundbreaking, but it will satisfy your craving for the genre.
