'Night Swim' proved to be an acceptable supernatural horror film. I found myself enjoying the experience of watching it. While it doesn’t offer anything fresh to the genre and borrows from existing works, the movie moved quickly and I appreciated the scary parts along with the performances of the actors. It felt like something was absent—I'm not sure what—but that didn't affect my overall impression after seeing it. Wyatt Russell and Kerry Condon deliver good performances as the main characters; she stands out more, but they were both appropriately chosen for their roles. The younger cast members, Amélie Hoeferle and Gavin Warren, are adequate, as are those in supporting parts. They’re featured in some well-constructed scenes that kept me engaged—and at around 90 minutes long, I wasn't restless during the story. It isn't particularly remarkable, but I would watch it again if asked. Or maybe my taste is simply off; it’s hard to say.
