Night Patrol! It’s not good, but consider the title and the artwork—it’s clearly a flawed film. Despite its shortcomings, I found myself enjoying Night Patrol, although frequent use of the fast-forward button was necessary. The plot veers off course, attempting to weave together elements of family curses and retribution with vampires. It's all rather silly and straightforward, highlighted by that memorable sequence where a character tries on various axes. That individual is easily the standout performer; given all the planning involved, there should have been more substantial fight scenes. Instead, it’s mostly excessive gore, containers of blood, and people wandering around seemingly ready to battle demons but also woefully unprepared. There's a neat moment with the police arriving, but ultimately it doesn’t matter because they layered in unnecessary plot elements, forcing us to repeatedly hear about how the Night Patrol are malevolent vampires who hoard blood. I wish they had included a scene where a vampire is caught between two mystical forces and then eliminated alongside the cool character and his crew. A member of their group dies in a brutal sequence, but eventually they get payback when that same vampire blunders into another one of their schemes. Perhaps some of this occurred while I was skipping ahead, but I don’t recall it happening.
