This Gothic tragedy follows a man whose vehicle malfunctions, leading him to find himself face-to-face with a family deep within the woods—a family grappling with the curse of the Wurdulaks. It’s a deeply unsettling exploration of loneliness, centered on an outsider who unexpectedly interferes with a family desperately attempting to break a curse that has ravaged their surroundings. Following some unusual and disturbing opening scenes filled with violence and sexuality, the narrative progresses at a deliberate pace, carefully building toward its conclusion. Despite this slower tempo, the characters are thoughtfully portrayed, the performances are strong, and I remained engaged throughout, culminating in a powerful final act. It's not bad.
