This film evokes a wide range of feelings in me. The director succeeded in guiding viewers through the story by developing the bond between the mother and daughter. I discovered that this movie really highlights vulnerabilities present within families or individuals. Often, we miss what's right in front of us when trying to be understanding—the effect our actions have on others. It moves me to tears each time I watch it because it reveals those shortcomings that Anne Bancroft’s character realizes too late. The movie deals with themes like loneliness, self-sufficiency, a decline in self-esteem, empathy, and the challenge of accepting someone's decisions about how they want to live or end their life. Sissy is remarkable; she pulls you into her world, showing you someone who can’t imagine what things will be like even tomorrow because she raises very good points about perseverance. Bancroft portrays a mother who worries excessively and has never managed on her own, now forced to confront the future herself. It's skillfully made, with excellent directing, acting, and a viewpoint based on events that happened in real life a few years before.
