Henry Cavill possesses undeniable good looks, yet he doesn’t seem equipped to handle the demands of this film’s central character. He portrays “Marshall,” a police officer brought in specifically to oversee an inquiry initiated by the recently apprehended and somewhat unstable "Simon" (Brendan Fletcher) – who may very well be responsible for the deaths of several young women. The narrative also includes "Cooper" (Sir Ben Kingsley), a former judge whose daughter was among the victims, now operating as a surprisingly capable vigilante. These elements should have combined to create a compelling pursuit story. However, the final product suffers from underwhelming acting and a plot that wanders aimlessly. “Marshall’s” personal life—a past marriage and limited contact with his child—feels irrelevant to the main events unfolding. "Rachel" (Alexandra Daddario), his new partner, proves more useful in advancing the narrative; she is intended as bait during an elaborate security operation designed to transport "Simon," but this convoy is attacked, allowing him to escape and continue his violent acts. The film’s production quality is lacking. There are noticeable inconsistencies—characters and vehicles appear and disappear without explanation. It all feels rather careless. As the story progresses, it becomes predictable, and despite some unusual touches, the overall feeling is that it's too insubstantial to maintain engagement throughout its lengthy run time of approximately one hundred minutes.
