I was very close to really loving this movie. The initial 45 minutes of *’Never Cry Wolf'* were fantastic; the way things were introduced kept me hooked. Sadly, the story seemed to stall out for roughly 15 to 30 minutes afterward, and it ultimately concluded in a rather disappointing way. If the film had been around 70 to 85 minutes long, I probably would have rated it much higher – that would’ve felt like just right. However, throughout its entire length, the visuals are truly impressive. Charles Martin Smith delivers a strong performance as Tyler and does an admirable job with the narration, which is exceptionally well-written. It's significantly better than other Disney films about wild animals; it seems this might have been their goal with something like *’The Legend of Lobo'* and others. It simply felt abrupt at the end, at least from my perspective. Despite that, I still ended up enjoying it – though there was a sense of unrealized potential.
