This sequel, Nezha 2, really doesn’t seem to grasp what made the initial film work. The first one established that the dragons weren't antagonists; they were manipulated by The Supreme Lords into capturing creatures and subsequently became imprisoned in an underwater realm themselves. However, this new installment feels detached from that foundation, and it appears that certain consequences and issues are glossed over. It’s almost as if the filmmakers didn’t put much effort into it, because some sequences seem like direct copies from the first film, and the movie overall doesn't quite make sense or clearly establish its central theme. I had high hopes for this one, but unfortunately, I ended up feeling let down and disappointed.
