Nikyatu Jusu's first film, _Nanny_, is an odd offering. The acting isn’t bad, but Aisha’s time in America comes across as a frustrating search with a disappointing payoff. It's hard to say what the movie is trying to convey beyond abandoning your family and rebuilding your life entirely somewhere new. Ultimately, it seems like a frivolous journey into dreamlike absurdity.
