The film *Nanny* presents an interesting narrative centered on motherhood that should resonate with many immigrants. Anna Diop gives what seems like her finest performance, holding the viewer’s attention in a captivating way. The limited setting is beautifully captured through Rina Yang's striking cinematography; however, the supernatural aspects, while present, feel overused and become burdensome as the movie progresses. The conclusion offers a meaningful but not entirely satisfying reveal that justifies the unsettling mood, though the predictable problems with the film’s rhythm might exhaust viewers before it arrives. Despite this, Nikyatu Jusu demonstrates considerable talent and courage in addressing such a challenging project while maintaining her own distinct perspective. She is definitely someone to watch.
