Attempting to reimagine a beloved original by folks from Greenwich Village results in something like this. While the black and white cinematography lends a sense of wistfulness, even elements such as Peter Fonda’s performance or the lesbian romance sequence aren't enough to lift it up. The sole positive aspect is its unusual status as a Christmas movie that isn’t about Christmas, which allows it a spot on one of my lists—though it now occupies the very last position.
