Mystic Christmas proves to be an uneven offering. Chandler Massey and Jessy Schram carry the film, and I thought they worked well together, showing some connection on screen. The writing also stood out; it’s rare for me to comment favorably on Hallmark movie dialogue. There was a certain energy to it, definitely more upbeat than saccharine, although that quality isn't entirely missing. However, the story itself felt rather lackluster. The aquarium scene was a welcome addition, but beyond that, the predictable romantic tension becomes tiresome and repetitive. It also seemed to be missing something in terms of Christmas spirit; while there are some festive elements, they don’t quite feel complete. When it came time to assign a score, I was considering either a 6/10 or a 7/10. Ultimately, I believe it just about earns the lower rating, though I did find myself almost enjoying it.
