It’s hard to say what "My Policeman" has going for it; there's a real absence of vitality, unexpected developments, strong acting, and an engaging narrative. The film feels empty, lifeless, and destined to be quickly forgotten—it doesn’t manage to offer anything worthwhile. Harry Styles’ presence highlights shortcomings when his character needs to convey emotion, sometimes resulting in unintentionally comedic moments. The more experienced actors do what they can to keep the movie afloat, preventing it from being a complete failure. This is not just the weakest film screened at the festival; it's hard to think of many other movies released this year that are quite as bad. Rating: D-
