My Old Ass is charming. It also has a noteworthy performance by Maisy Stella. The main character is genuinely excellent from beginning to end; she’s believable enough that it's easy to forget you're watching an actor, and Stella shines when portraying her character's more heartfelt moments. Aubrey Plaza isn’t in the film for very long, but still makes a memorable impression—I always like seeing her work. It’s not flawless, of course; some lines feel slightly awkward, and the conclusion feels somewhat hurried (?) and foreseeable. That said, I wasn’t really finding fault with it because I had a good time watching the roughly 90 minutes. It's funny and heartwarming, and worth recommending.
