It seems like someone reacted to the criticism of the "After..." movies by trying to create something that would make them seem better by comparison, and surprisingly, they managed to do just that. Nicole Wallace portrays “Noah,” who’s had to move in with her mother and her new husband, ending up sharing a large house with her skinny step-brother, “Nick,” played by Gabriel Guevara. Their relationship doesn't get off to a good start; he’s arrogant, and she is equally direct – which should be that. It felt like a no-win situation. However, the film stretches out for nearly two hours, presenting an incredibly formulaic romantic drama that somehow includes car chases, fights, intimate scenes, family conflicts, more (beach) intimate encounters, and even a kidnapping. I’d say it's unbelievable, but apparently, series author Mercedes Ron wrote it in her novel. Amazon clearly invested some money into the project, though not much of it went toward the script or the performances – Wallace has a slight resemblance to Shailene Woodley, but “Nick” just comes across as an exaggerated and uninteresting character, regardless of his attire. I realize this isn't really my kind of movie, but honestly, I’m curious about who would genuinely enjoy something so bland. I miss "90210"!
