I appreciate seeing a film from when Jude Law had that certain appeal (and his hair was still plentiful), but unfortunately, even that can’t save this slow-moving romantic story. Norah Jones is dealing with the aftermath of a failed romance and visits Law's café for pie, where they begin to talk. Then she has moved on, and he attempts to find her, traveling through New York, Memphis, and ultimately Nevada, where she encounters Natalie Portman, who’s struggling financially. The whole thing feels rather disjointed; the small amount of organization present doesn't elevate it beyond a strangely empty road movie filled with relationship problems and introspection. It does have a really good musical score, though.
