It was enjoyable to see Johnny Depp in this film, but the narrative itself proved quite disappointing. While the plot held some initial appeal, the resolution felt inconsistent with Hercule Poirot's established personality; however, I appreciate that it posed a significant ethical dilemma for viewers and recognize the writer’s intention. The parallels with Sherlock Holmes stories lead me to believe these mysteries are overly straightforward. The recurring trope of the English detective relentlessly pursuing his nemesis is rather predictable!
