This crime-thriller I watched in 2002—likely during a time when I regularly went to the cinema—didn’t particularly wow me, but it remained enjoyable because of the acting from Ryan Gosling early in his career (this was just his fifth film), Michael Pitt, and Sandra Bullock, who played a troubled detective. The storyline felt reminiscent of an episode of Criminal Minds, which I didn't view negatively. It was also nice to spot Nick Offerman in a small part. **3.25/5**
