Following a car crash, a woman finds herself with memory loss, and she teams up with an aspiring actress to uncover the details of what happened and why. The narrative then progresses through increasingly convoluted developments – but ultimately, to no discernible purpose. I honestly didn’t understand it. If someone were to explain its meaning, I'm not sure I would trust their explanation. It’s unclear if there’s any real substance beneath the surface or whether Lynch is challenging viewers to acknowledge that they are incapable of understanding his artistic vision. The film itself is skillfully crafted and features strong performances from Naomi Watts and Justin Theroux; however, I couldn't connect with the strange world it portrays, and it felt like a missed opportunity for me.
