Mr. Right presents itself as an unusual romantic comedy! The premise is fairly unique: a hit man experiences a shift in personality because of an injury, leading him to reject his former profession by deciding that “murder is wrong.” He then begins targeting the individuals who commission these hits, seemingly oblivious to the inherent contradiction. We are also introduced to Martha, a woman navigating life after a difficult breakup—a familiar setup for this type of film. The two characters slowly develop a bond. Despite his psychological state, he consistently treats her with kindness and respect. Their dialogue is clever and insightful, often incorporating humor derived from him casually revealing his profession—killing people—which she initially assumes is a joke. She has some revelations to share later on, which I won't disclose. Like several other films I’ve seen recently, particularly action movies like Nobody, there's an excessive amount of violence here, bordering on the absurd at times. I've even created a new category for them: "Bodybag movies." If some viewers are looking for that level of intensity, it’s not my place to object. Nevertheless, I found this movie enjoyable. It’s charming how he remains polite and thoughtful towards his girlfriend, even when facing perilous circumstances. And isn't it satisfying when characters demonstrate development? The revelations about Martha that I mentioned earlier contribute significantly to her character arc—or perhaps “development” isn’t quite the right term?. But I won’t elaborate further. It's a diverting comedy; check it out and form your own opinion.
