Following a botched robbery, small-time criminal "Leo," portrayed by William Hartnell, finds himself abandoned by his partners in crime. After serving time, fueled by a desire for retribution, he seeks out those who wronged him: "Loman" (Raymond Lovell) and his associate "Hatchett" (Victor Weske). His experiences behind bars have transformed him, and "Loman" quickly realizes he has misjudged Leo’s resolve. This proves to be a mistake when Loman is ensnared in a murder plot and draws the attention of the imposing “Lang” (Herbert Lom), known for his serious demeanor. Robert Beatty seems well-suited to playing the somewhat unremarkable "Insp. Rogers." Even Hartnell, typically not known for range, delivers an acceptable performance within this efficiently made, low-budget film. The narrative isn’t particularly fresh, but John Harlow maintains a brisk pace, making it suitable as something to watch during the day.
