A group of prisoners held in a chain gang consume a large quantity of formaldehyde, then try to break free. After being killed by the guards and quickly buried, they unexpectedly return from their graves seeking retribution against those who wronged them. While recognizable as a zombie film—these undead are more expressive than the typical stiff, vacant sort—they aren’t particularly well-developed; some might even have been capable of playing Scrabble reasonably well. Ultimately, the movie feels very dated and is just plain absurd.
