"Boston" (Chester Morris) suggests to the Governor that certain reliable inmates could help with wartime production by working in a factory. He consents to letting them stay at his place, but soon finds himself caught up in an attempt to demonstrate that "Dooley" (Erik Rolf) was wrongly accused of murder. In a surprising turn, "Insp. Faraday" (Richard Lane) is part of the scheme to use "Blackie" as a lure for the actual perpetrator – along with $60,000 – and employing some trickery and his group of convicts who are generally good-hearted, they set up a snare for... The story moves quickly, features familiar cast members, and has a more substantial narrative than many previous episodes, managing to entertain for an hour with a few misleading clues and a risky confession from a window at the very end.
