It feels more like an exercise in self-reference than anything else, and not a particularly successful one. The casting felt odd, and there were moments where the cinematography seemed designed to actively lessen any potential suspense. This makes for a disappointing experience, because I can see the possibility of something worthwhile here, but it ultimately fails to connect and never recovers from that initial stumble.
