Aylin Tezel portrays "Kira," who finds herself in rural Scotland during winter when she meets "Ian" (Chris Fulton) one Friday evening outside a pub. He’s already been involved in a drunken encounter, and she has recently escaped an unwelcome advance from someone eager to court her, so they begin talking, dancing, joking around, and connecting with each other. Over the course of the following day, they discover more about one another as they realize that both carry their own complications, before he must deal with a family matter. She returns to London for work, taking on a role as a set designer for a play. He also goes back to the city to be with his girlfriend "Emily" (Alexandra Dowling), but it’s obvious that no one seems particularly content. Perhaps their paths will cross again – maybe fate will smile upon them? The storyline isn't exactly surprising, but there is a pleasant spark between the two leads. They don’t appear to be exceptionally skilled performers, though they do have good rapport and the scenes set on the island are quite absorbing and believable. It feels longer than it needs to be; trimming about thirty minutes could tighten up the narrative and focus more on what truly makes this film work – the connection between the characters. Despite that, it's a well-crafted and occasionally playful movie with some lovely cinematography of the locations.
