This movie, India Sweets & Spices, is just awful and predictable. It aims low and doesn't attempt to delve into anything truly significant, despite what the obviously manipulated final scene suggests. To make matters worse, the director simply took the name of a local Indian store—a business with three decades of history in Southern California—and presented it as some kind of social misstep. This feels like an infringement on their trademark, and it's now readily apparent online that the film has completely taken over all search results for that name. That’s the power of money when used aggressively. I believe the filmmaker and those involved with her production lack any sense of what is right.
