The film gets details wrong regarding what actually happened. According to Wikipedia, *The Voyage That Shook The World* is a 2009 production made by Creation Ministries International, an organization promoting Young Earth creationism, and created by Fathom Media. It was released to coincide with the two hundredth anniversary of Charles Darwin’s birth and the one-hundred-and-fiftieth anniversary of his book *On the Origin of Species*. One of the historians who appeared in the film has said that he wasn't told about the creationist agenda when he participated, and that editing changed what he originally expressed, resulting in a misleading depiction of Darwin. Creation Ministries acknowledged they used an intermediary to recruit participants. While claiming there was no intentional trickery involved, they stated one interviewee conceded that while producers selected specific remarks, they "didn't distort what we said," drawing parallels with documentary production methods employed by the BBC.
