This film represents a low point in my viewing history, particularly considering its inclusion within the Mill Creek 'Nightmare Worlds' collection—a set of fifty films spread across twelve double-sided DVDs. Its excessive length only compounded the disappointment; these movies typically run just over an hour, making even tedious ones bearable with minimal effort. However, this one stretched to nearly two hours. The filmmakers clearly attempted to imitate and profit from superior productions. For instance, the robot character intended to be a sophisticated bartender looked as though it were constructed from refuse, and the film’s title borrows elements from both 'Star Wars' and '2001: A Space Odyssey', both considered cornerstones of science fiction cinema. Despite these significant flaws, there were glimpses of promising concepts—such as interplanetary auctions for planets—that could have been realized with more skilled writing and direction. Because of this potential, I couldn’t dismiss it entirely. I'm just relieved that it's finished, and I won't be revisiting it. Ultimately, the film is only recommended to those who actively enjoy poorly made movies or are ardent science fiction fans willing to overlook its shortcomings; otherwise, it’s best avoided altogether.
