Kilometers and Kilometers proves to be an uneven film, leaving a disappointing impression. The story begins with what feels like affected artistry, centering on an American tourist’s desire to experience India and her reliance on a questionable local guide (Tovino Thomas) for that journey. While issues exist within this premise, even overlooking them doesn't generate the sense of excitement or pleasure one might anticipate. Instead, it primarily presents two viewpoints regarding existence: the value of relationships versus individual self-reliance. However, any attempts at emotional resonance in the latter part of the movie ultimately undermine the entire experience. My time with Kilometers and Kilometers was lengthy and demanding, especially considering how difficult it is to find, and I can’t suggest seeing it, not even for those hoping for a road trip style film; it's really not that kind of movie.
