This is a rather good, atmospheric, unsettling psychological thriller featuring Anthony Perkins and Julie Harris, both of whom excel at portraying characters under duress. The film can feel somewhat stifling and challenging to engage with initially due to its deliberate intensity, but perseverance pays off; it's genuinely satisfying and certainly not an unproductive way to spend 90 minutes. The moment Perkins’ character, Allan, picks up a photograph and says "Mother," elicited a smile from me. It's fascinating to consider the career of such a uniquely gifted performer.
