This television movie, focusing on recordings from someone investigating paranormal claims while also attempting to disprove them—a writer in this case—tells the story of his encounters with a zombie aiming to call forth a demon. It’s fairly standard fare for its era, but director Dan Curtis, experienced in supernatural films, manages it exceptionally well. Roy Thinnes and Angie Dickinson both treat the material with sincerity. There are some truly unsettling scenes involving Dickinson's deceased husband, who appears at night, frightening and violent, and the depiction of the demon is also effective. The film moves along nicely, and I found it quite enjoyable. It’s better than most TV movies. -- DrNostromo.com
