This follow-up to *’Alien'* turned out to be stronger than I initially thought. *’Aliens'*—it’s clear the filmmakers put a lot of imagination into this one—is only marginally different from the first film, yet it still makes for an extremely fun watch, even with its somewhat extended length, which doesn't detract from what's happening on screen. Sigourney Weaver is excellent once more; it’s easy to understand how these movies helped establish her as a star. I will admit that certain sections of this 1986 movie feel like they repeat elements from the original and some plot developments are fairly obvious, such as the storylines for Lance Henriksen's Bishop and Paul Reiser's Carter, but taken as a whole it’s another worthwhile addition to the series. I am curious to see if they managed to make it three in a row with *’Alien³’*.
