Armin (played by Constantin von Jascherhoff) is a young man, the youngest of three brothers, who seems to be drifting aimlessly at home. His mother showers him with affection, his father attempts to assist him in preparing for job interviews, and his older brother Stefan (Florian Panzner) is soon to become a parent. Armin feels disconnected from these familial dynamics; he's unfulfilled and lacking direction. He has an interest in Katia (Nora Waldstätten), but her attention is focused on another friend. There’s also a fascination with a biker, whose group often uses the local public restroom, and Armin brings him home for a brief encounter that feels rather impersonal. He seems stuck in a cycle with no apparent escape. The question then becomes, what's next? Unfortunately, director Christoph Hochhäusler doesn't offer many solutions to break up this slow-moving and increasingly inward-looking portrayal of his handsome, reasonably smart young man—a character who is, essentially, like many people at that age: preoccupied with themselves, uncertain about the future, and driven by hormones. The performances feel as detached as the sexual encounter, the situations are consistently disheartening, and I simply couldn't find myself connecting with this film, regrettably.
