I had genuine anticipation for this film, imagining something akin to a mature "Wallace and Gromit," but situated within the competitive world of Estonian dairy farming. Unfortunately, following a lively and energetic start lasting roughly twenty minutes, the movie descends into a sequence of rather unfunny, even childish, adventures involving Grandpa and two grandchildren attempting to find their escaped cow. It's important to note that if you neglect milking a cow daily, its udder can become dangerously swollen, potentially leading to what’s called "lactopalypse"—something everyone wants to avoid. During their pursuit through the woods, they stumble upon a hippie festival (seemingly hosted by Uma Thurman), an amorous tree deity, and an exceptionally hungry bear—but will they manage to get milking before it's too late? Complicating matters is the fact that the former milker, who previously failed to prevent a disaster, is now chasing them with his group of laborers armed with chainsaws, determined to kill the cow. While there are some amusing and down-to-earth moments, and the vodka-fueled tractor elicited a chuckle, I found much of it somewhat repetitive. The conclusion feels drawn out and, in my opinion, rather cheap. It possesses an element of raunchiness that might have been humorous decades ago, but now just feels awkward. The animation is well done; it brought to mind Tony Hart’s “Morph,” and the narrative moves at a brisk pace, so I would suggest giving it a try—I was simply let down.
